Thread

For the thread, I experimented with different styles and tried
to find something that worked for me. The response to the image
gives a comical feel and is playful. However the thread drawings
give a textural and dimensional feel. The image is popping off the
paper jumping in the viewers face.

Erase

My thought process for erasing, was to respond to photos.
By eliminating a portion of the photo it allowed you to focus
on the main subject. I wanted to have the main subject in the
center of the photo so the viewers eyes didn't wonder off the page.
I also included some eraser illustrations in the top photo.

Diagrams

On my diagrams, I portrayed old people complaining everyday
complaints. I came up with this idea because everyday people complain
constantly. I drew old people because all my life my grandparents have
complained. The two ideas I felt went hand-in-hand.

Wrapped

For the word "wrapped" I took bubble wrap and created
bubbles. I got my idea from playing with the words and
created a three dimensional colorful bubble scene. The bubbles
decrease in size from right to left showing time since the bubbles
were blown. The colors give the piece dimension and texture.

Transparent

For the transparent pieces, I wanted to respond to images that I found
of my mother and I. By taking transparent paper, I was able to control what
I wanted the images to look like. The one of just my mother I changed her hair and
shirt color. For the image of me as a baby, I created a comical photo.

Wood

My intentions were to create an abstract ocean piece.
By cutting the wood it created chaos for the viewers eyes
but gave them a reality of the ocean. The abstract lines give
                           the piece movement.

Cardboard

My theme for the cardboard pieces was to be resourceful,
the cardboard I had cut was used to create abstract lines using
complimentary colors. The remaining pieces were used to create
                           abstract shapes.
